FAQs

1. What’s the right age to start music lessons?
Children can start as early as 5 years old, depending on their focus and interest. We offer age-appropriate programs for ages 5 through adults.

2. What’s the difference between group, partner, and private lessons?

  • Group lessons (4–6 students) are fun and social, ideal for beginners.

  • Partner lessons (2 students) allow for shared learning, and recommended for intermediate students or beginner adults.

  • Private lessons (1-on-1) provide fully customized instruction for focused progress for piano exams.

i. How do I know which lesson format is best for my child?
It depends on your child’s personality, goals, and learning style. Group or partner lessons are great for beginners, while private lessons suit students who need a personalized pace or are preparing for exams.

ii. Will each child get individual attention in a group class?

Yes! Group sizes are small, and activities are structured so every child receives personal guidance and feedback.

iii. How do you keep all children engaged during the class?

Lessons are designed with rotating activities—playing, listening, movement, and games—to keep energy and focus high throughout.

iv. What if my child learns faster or slower than others?

Each child progresses at their own pace, with layered activities and support to meet different learning speeds within the group.

v. How many children are in each group?

Groups typically have 4–6 students, ensuring a balance between social learning and personal attention.

3. Do I need a piano or keyboard at home to join?
A keyboard at home is strongly recommended for practice, but it doesn’t have to be expensive. We’re happy to help you choose a suitable one.

4. Are any books or materials required?
Yes, depending on the class, students may need method books, writing books, or access to digital resources. We’ll guide you on what’s needed after enrollment.

5. Can my child switch from group to private lessons later on?
Yes, many students start in group or partner settings and transition to private lessons as they grow or set new goals.

6. What is the class schedule and duration?
Most classes are once a week. Group and partner lessons are 45 minutes, and private lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on level.

7. Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes, trial lessons are available to help you get a feel for the class before enrolling. Please note that group trial lessons may not always be possible—when needed, we’ll arrange a one-on-one trial instead.

8. How do you track progress in lessons?
We use a combination of teacher feedback, mini-performances, written activities, and optional progress reports to track each student’s growth.

9. Do you prepare students for music exams (like Trinity or ABRSM)?
Yes, we offer exam preparation for students in private lessons and advanced partner classes.
